Some of them are necessary for the functioning of the site, but you can decide about others.
Ladislav had just graduated from high school, Viktor wanted to see how things worked in practice, and Barbora was looking for a job she could combine with school. None of them expected that, before long, they would be working on their theses, traveling abroad for projects, or moving directly from the production floor to the software team.
They each came here for different reasons, but through working on real projects, they all gradually discovered what they enjoy, what they’re good at, and which direction they want to pursue. That’s also why many of them choose to stay with us for the long term.
Below you’ll find authentic stories from students who have already found their path at ICE.

"I first came across ICE shortly after finishing high school. I used to see their blue-and-white cars around town with the logo referencing industrial automation. Since my neighbor Alča worked at ICE, it didn’t take long before I landed my first student job there as an electrical installer.
From the start, I was impressed by the friendly atmosphere, the professional approach, and the openness of the company. What surprised me the most was the trust I received — just one month after joining, I had the chance to go abroad for my first international installation. It was a great experience I still remember fondly.
What began as a student job quickly turned into long-term cooperation. I moved through several teams, starting as a mechanic/electromechanic, then switching to switchboard assembly, and today I work as a software developer. In every team there was a great mood, a strong drive to finish things properly, and colleagues were always willing to help — which, from other work experiences, I know is far from guaranteed.
As a student, I really valued being involved in real projects, where theory from school connected with practical experience. I worked mainly on PLC programming, creating visualizations, and machine vision. ICE also helped me enormously with my thesis — they provided not only the necessary hardware and software, but the most valuable resource of all: their experts, with whom I could consult my work.
What I love most about working at ICE is the variety. Every day is different, I’m constantly learning something new, and I never feel like I’m just ticking boxes. And even though it can be tough sometimes, thanks to ICE I realized that industrial automation isn’t just about cables and screws, but a field full of challenges, smart solutions, and — thanks to the company culture — good vibes."
Ladislav Nováček, Software Developer, student job since 7/2023, now full-time
"What I appreciate most about my student job at ICE is the great atmosphere and the human approach. Everyone was friendly from the beginning, willing to advise me and explain everything, which made me feel comfortable right away and look forward to coming to work. I learned a lot of practical skills, not only in my own field, but also in areas I wouldn’t have otherwise explored. A huge plus was the flexibility, which allowed me to fit my work around school. It was a great opportunity to gain experience, grow, and work with a fantastic team."
Barbora Havelková, University Student, Administrative Assistant, student job since 11/2024, since 4/2025 part-time
"Last year, following my school placement, I decided to apply for a summer job at ICE. From my placement I already had some idea of what to expect, roughly what I’d be doing, so I went in with a calm mindset.
Right away I was struck by the relaxed and unreserved atmosphere among my coworkers and their team spirit. It really helped to break the ice and get into the workplace vibe that everyone was on a first-name basis from the very start. Everyone seemed like experts in their fields, and I have to say that impression was absolutely true. Plus, everyone was always willing and patient to explain things whenever I needed help. Over the course of the job, I gained a lot of experience, not just professionally, but for my personal life too. It showed me how things really work and where school theory applies in the real world.
In short, I have to say the facilities and the people here are fantastic. And it’s great that it connects directly to my studies and interests."
Viktor Kourek, Secondary School Student, Automation Mechanic, student job since 5/2024
"My first student job was here at ICE. When I look back at my beginnings here in the software team, I can’t help but smile. The hours I spent solving problems that today I’d fix in a matter of minutes, the time spent with people who showed me how to find solutions and the way forward. Thanks to them, the work experience and student job at ICE allowed me to understand what I’m good at and where my weaker spots are. These realizations pushed me forward immensely, and I’m glad I’m here."
Jakub Dušek, Secondary School Student, Software Developer, student job since 7/2024
"During my professional internship at ICE, I had the chance to take part in interesting projects where my work really made sense, and I gained a lot of valuable experience. The people on my team were always there to guide me in the right direction, and whenever a problem came up, they were there to help me so I could learn from it and improve going forward. The internship gave me new perspectives and experience in many areas — and I’m glad I chose ICE."
