As part of a strategic collaboration with the technology company PAPACKS and engineering partner Inmaco Solutions, we contributed to the development and commissioning of the new PAPACKS® MODEL S10 production system. This technology enables high-volume manufacturing of fiber-based bottles, tubes, containers, and other molded components as a sustainable alternative to plastic packaging.
In the project, we were responsible for the integration of robotics and automation solutions across the entire production process, as well as for the architecture of process automation. We transferred the precision and speed of automotive robotics into the fiber-molding industry, enabling stable cycle times and industrial-grade quality at high production volumes. The entire line is fully automated and technically validated.
A key element of the system is the newly developed drying and calibration technology, which ensures absolute repeatability of every produced piece. Each individual product is precisely dried and calibrated through a network of process and control valves with feedback loops that monitor and optimize production parameters in real time. Thanks to this closed-loop regulation, the system achieves exceptional dimensional and qualitative stability, every product is consistent, identical, and meets the same high standards as the one before it.
The MODEL S10 is modular and scalable:
This new generation of fiber-based packaging technology significantly advances the capabilities of the market — overcoming the limitations of previous laboratory or small-scale solutions and meeting the requirements of the upcoming PPWR legislation. The system is installed at the PAPACKS GIGAFACTORY in Arnstadt, where it is already running in validated industrial operation.
